Guest Lecturer: Yuki Takizawa (Director of We learning Inc.)

On January 13, during the "International Management Seminar I" lecture, we invited Mr. Yuki Takizawa, director of We learning Inc., to conduct a LEGO® Serious Play® workshop. The workshop was designed to allow participants to experience "embodiment" — the sensation of "body first, mind second."

First, we provided an overview of LEGO® Serious Play®, including its theoretical background and foundational knowledge. Next, participants were introduced to the LEGO® bricks through an introductory activity. Then, three distinct activities were conducted. In each activity, participants created a model based on a theme. By answering questions posed by others, their unconscious thoughts and ideas surfaced.

Participants experienced a sense of flow during the process. Rather than selecting specific parts, they focused on using the provided parts effectively (bricolage) as they progressed through the activity. This allowed them to physically experience the sense-making process through dialogue.

The workshop provided an opportunity to experience the feeling of taking action and learning as you go rather than meticulously planning beforehand.
