Fordham University Gabelli School of Business EMBA Japan Programme

From April 20 to 22, 2026, ABS had the pleasure of hosting an inbound programme for EMBA students from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. Faculty members from ABS, including Professor Hatsuyoshi Ichino, Professor Tsutomu Nakano, Associate Professor Yuta Hirose and Assistant Kayoung Kim, participated in the programme.

On April 20, the programme commenced with welcome remarks by Professor Ichino, followed by a lecture and interactive workshop on AI and management led by Professor Nakano, which sparked engaging discussions among participants. A campus tour of Aoyama Gakuin University followed, and in the afternoon, the group visited the Yamaha Ginza showroom for a site visit and discussion-based workshop.

On April 21, Associate Professor Hirose facilitated a hands-on workshop focusing on business process improvement from the perspective of Japanese customer service. In the afternoon, participants visited the United Nations University, where they gained insights into the initiatives of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and UNU, engaging in discussions from a global perspective.

On the final day, April 22, the programme concluded at Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. where students delivered their final presentations for a strategic consulting project. The session included feedback from company representatives and an interactive workshop, providing a valuable opportunity to translate learning into practice.

Through this programme, participants deepened their understanding of Japanese business practices and global institutional initiatives while developing multi-layered perspectives. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and expanding opportunities for international education and industry-academia partnerships.
